 개역개정 산헤립의 신하가 유다 방언으로 크게 소리 질러 예루살렘 성 위에 있는 백성을 놀라게 하고 괴롭게 하여 그 성을 점령하려 하였는데
 KJV Then they cried with a loud voice in the Jews' speech unto the people of Jerusalem that were on the wall, to affright them, and to trouble them; that they might take the city.
 NIV Then they called out in Hebrew to the people of Jerusalem who were on the wall, to terrify them and make them afraid in order to capture the city.
 공동번역 그들은 예루살렘성 위에 있는 군인들에게 유다 말로 크게 외쳤다. 간담이 서늘하게 겁을 주어 성을 공략할 속셈이었던 것이다.
